United for Safety Discussions & Prepared for Emergencies

The S.C Labor Union Committee organized the "Ankang Cup" Safety Knowledge Debate Competition in the company's training room on August 17, with a focus on the theme of "United for Safety Discussion and Prepared for Emergencies". The event was held to earnestly implement manufacturing safety regulations and policies, impart knowledge about safe manufacturing, raise safety awareness, and adhere to the principle of "Safety First & Focusing on Prevention".

The debate competition was moderated by Mr. Wang Wei, Chairman of the Labor Union. Mr. Peng Zhijian, Chief Administrative Officer; Mr. Wang Wei, Chairman of the Labor Union; and Mrs. Li Yirui, Assistant to General Manager, served as judges. A total of 8 teams participated in this activity, including 1 team from the Engineering Department, 1 team from the Quality Management Department, 2 teams from Business Division III, and 4 teams from the Production Department. Each team sent 3 debaters, totalling 24 for the competition.

Before the competition began, the pros and cons were drawn by lot, and the moderator introduced the purpose and rules of the competition, as well as the debate topics in detail. The debate competition was divided into three rounds: the preliminary round (4 topics), the semi-final round (2 topics), and the grand final round (1 topic). The contestants engaged in a heated debate on occupational safety and health knowledge, citing lots of evidence and presenting arguments logically. Their in-depth exploration of safety knowledge about the production workshop, management, life and other aspects made for a brilliant performance.

During the debates, there were Q&A sessions in which the audience competed to raise their hands to provide additional explanations based on the debaters' arguments, or to point out flaws and expand the knowledge. Everyone was surrounded by an intense yet enthusiastic atmosphere. 

After the debate ended, our Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Peng provided each participating group with detailed and comprehensive comments. Not only did he praise the contestants for their articulate arguments, clear points of view and excellent performances, but he also suggested areas for improvement, which was a great learning experience for everyone in the room. In the end, the judges evaluated and selected a champion team, a runner-up team, a third-place team and three "Best Debaters", with the Production Department (Automation Electrician Group V) team winning the first place, the Business Division III (Automation II) team the second and the Engineering Department team the third, and Shi Xingyu, Huang Kunhui, Liu Yunxiang awarded the "Best Debater" prize. The judges presented prizes to the winners and took photos with them. In addition, other unawarded contestants were also given a pleasant gift to encourage active participation and to anticipate breakthroughs and progress next time.

The "Ankang Cup" Safety Knowledge Debate Competition improved fellow employees' safety knowledge and understandings, as well as their safety awareness and self-protection skills. The event further educated about the principle of "Safety First & Focusing on Prevention", highlighted the core of "United for Safety Dicussion, Prepared for Emergencies" and was greatly significant to the safety work of the company.
