On May 30, S.C New Energy Technology Corporation(hereinafter referred as “S.C”) and Jiangsu Akcome Science and Technology Co., Ltd.(hereinafter referred as“Akcome”) signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement for the 2GW HJT cell project of Akcome’s Changxing manufacturing base to conduct in-depth cooperation in the field of HJT technology. President Yuzhong and Vice-President Zuo Guojun of S.C, President Zou Chenghui, CEO Shi Qiang and Vice-CEO Zhang Jinjian of Akcome and other leaders attended the signing ceremony.

S.C has been specializing in manufacturing crystalline silicon cell production equipment, and Akcome started to march into the field of high-efficiency solar cells and modules with HJT as the technical direction and comprehensively carry forward the transformation and upgrade of photovoltaic cells since 2019, so the cooperation between the two Parties will be focused on the technical research and development of key process equipment and the equipment procurement for the entire PV cell production line this time.

In the entire HJT cell manufacturing process, equipment is a very important part. S.C’s RPD equipment of 220MW has been used in Akcome’s R&D production line before this cooperation; next, the two parties will conduct joint research and development on key process equipment (mainly PECVD equipment and TCO coating equipment), develop new technologies and processes with independent intellectual property rights and technical patents, and share the patented technological achievements together; besides, for the process equipment and automation equipment of the entire production line provided by S.C, Akcome will participate in the equipment development technical exchanges, the project review of equipment design, application test and data feedback to guarantee the their HJT cell project to take a lead in the technology area of PV industry.

Photovoltaic production equipment is a core link in realizing the industry's large-scale development and parity, and the localization of the equipment is an important method to reduce the cost of PV investment. The cooperation between S.C and Akcome in equipment development will not only benefits HJT cell production in terms of the equipment update, process optimization and throughput improvement, but also help establish and improve Akcome’s supply chain coordination mechanism, and contribute to the efficiency increase and cost reduction of photovoltaic industry and earlier realization of grid parity.
